The Impact of Supported Employment Services at Columbia Ability Alliance
Empowering Lives, Businesses, Schools, and Communities
- For Individuals: Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities find support in making informed decisions about work, benefits, and incentives. Our goal is to help you achieve personal milestones through meaningful employment.
- For Employers: Employing individuals with disabilities not only fulfills business needs but also creates meaningful opportunities. Debunking myths, we assure you that hiring individuals with disabilities does not increase workers' compensation insurance rates. Moreover, most accommodations are cost-effective, and tax incentives make accessibility investments attractive for businesses.
- For Schools and Communities: Supported employment services contribute to the reduction of costs associated with supporting individuals with disabilities. This, in turn, enhances community resources and reinforces the belief that inclusivity is an investment in the collective future.
Unleashing the Full Potential of Employment
- Providing Meaningful Employment: At Columbia Ability Alliance, we firmly believe that everyone, regardless of abilities, can contribute valuable work. Employment is not the exception; it should be the rule. We connect individuals to jobs that are not just meaningful but necessary and important to a company's success. This approach increases self-worth, builds relationships, and expands access to community resources.
- Increasing Self-worth: Supported employment focuses on hiring individuals based on their abilities, fostering a healthier, safer, and happier workforce. By placing individuals with disabilities in competitive work environments, we aim to boost competence, broaden capabilities, and instill pride in a job well done.
- Building Relationships: Entering the workforce positions individuals with disabilities to gain trust, respect, and autonomy. The relationships formed during employment are invaluable, enriching lives both personally and professionally.
- Access to Community Resources: Columbia Ability Alliance envisions a future where all individuals, especially those with developmental disabilities, are fully included in their communities. Our robust employment support ensures broader access to community resources, enriching lives and fostering a more inclusive society.
Columbia Ability Alliance: Employment Services is proud to be accredited by CARF, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
