Columbia Ability Alliance Welcomes Janel Miles as New Controller

Columbia Ability Alliance, formerly Columbia Industries, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing diverse programs and support services for individuals with disabilities, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Janel Miles as its new Controller.

Janel Miles brings a wealth of experience and a passion for community service to her role at Columbia Ability Alliance. Graduating from Washington State University with a double major in Accounting and Sports Management, Janel has accrued over 15 years of experience as a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Her professional journey includes significant contributions in public accounting across Washington and California, as well as serving as the Hospital Administrator at Mid-Columbia and Yakima Pet Emergency Services for nearly a decade.

What motivated Janel to join Columbia Ability Alliance was her personal connection to the organization’s mission. As a parent of an 11-year-old son with autism and intellectual disabilities, she understands firsthand the importance of the work that Columbia Ability Alliance does within the community.

In her new role as Controller, Janel will oversee the accuracy and timeliness of the organization’s accounting records, ensuring financial transparency and accountability. She is eager to leverage her extensive experience to streamline accounting policies and procedures, contributing to the continued success and growth of Columbia Ability Alliance.

“I am excited to join an organization that is truly making a difference in our community,” says Janel. “My personal connection to the cause drives my passion to contribute meaningfully to Columbia Ability Alliance’s mission. I look forward to using my expertise to help streamline operations and support the organization’s ongoing success.”

Columbia Ability Alliance is delighted to welcome Janel Miles to the team and looks forward to the positive impact her leadership will bring to the organization and the communities it serves.
