Empowerment Place: Basic Food Benefit Assistance

At Columbia Ability Alliance, we proudly partner with People for People to offer assistance in navigating the Basic Food application process to eligible individuals through our Empowerment Place: Basic Food Benefit Assistance. The Basic Food program is designed to supplement the diets of Washington residents with healthy, nutritious food. You don’t have to be a U.S. Citizen to receive Basic Food Benefits! Immigrants who meet specific program rules under the Federal Supplemental Nutrition Program may be eligible for food benefits.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must live in Washington State
  • Meet household size/monthly income requirements
  • Meet citizenship or alien status requirements

Food Benefit Details:

  • Monthly benefits based on household size, income, and living expenses
  • Eligible households receive an Electronic Benefits Transfer Card (EBT) to purchase food items at participating businesses each month

Funded in part by the USDA Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Basic Food is available to all regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, religion, or political belief.
