The Challenge System Explained
During the Giving Blitz, your donation does double duty. Not only does it directly support Columbia Ability Alliance programs, but it also helps unlock additional sponsor challenge funds that multiply your impact.
Here’s how it works: Local sponsors have committed challenge funds that are released only when our community reaches specific milestones. When we hit 50 donors, a $3,000 challenge unlocks. When we raise $10,000, another $5,000 becomes available. Your donation might be the one that tips us over the edge!
Challenge Types:
- Donation Milestones: Unlock when we reach specific fundraising amounts
- Participation Goals: Release when we hit donor count targets
- Time-Based Challenges: Special matches during specific hours
- Social Media Challenges: Activated by shares, likes, and engagement

Challenge: Mission Services
This $5,000 donation will unlock with 3 CAA programs each receive at least 20 donations.
Challenge: Matching Donations
This $5,000 matching donation will unlock when donations from our community reach $5,000.
Challenge: Monthly Donors
HAPO will donate $3,500 when 25 donors sign up for recurring monthly donations of $25 or more.
Challenge: First Time Donors
$2,500 will be unlocked when we receive donations from 25 FIRST TIME CAA donors!
